The house is located in the old town of Omišalj, it was adapted from the ground up in 2022, so it is practically a new building. Under the roof as well as the mezzanine structures are made of concrete. PVC interior joinery with mosquito nets, 5 air conditioners and underfloor heating in the upper bathroom. It consists of 4 floors (ground floor, 1st floor, 2nd floor, high attic) and has a total of 125 m2. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, living room, kitchen, dining room and toilet. Internal stairs lead to the 1st floor, where there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The second floor is currently a study, but it can be a large master bedroom and bathroom. On the last floor there is a kitchen and a living room with an exit to the roof terrace with a panoramic view of the sea and the old town. It is fully furnished and equipped. OMIŠALJ is the only settlement in the Gulf of Rijeka that can be seen from all sides. At a height of 85 meters, on the northwestern side of the island of Krk, an almost three kilometer long bay dominates. Such convenience caught the eye of the prehistoric inhabitants already, and the life of Omišalj has been going on for tens of thousands of years. On the opposite coast of the Ert peninsula, which surrounds the bay from the southwest, Fulfinium was probably built in Roman times, along with Kurikum (Krk) then the second most important island settlement; it is believed to have disappeared at the time of the collapse of the Roman Empire in the 5th century or perhaps a little later. Omišalj itself was first mentioned in 1153. Today, as one of the oldest places on the island, Omišalj is an important Glagolitic and cultural center. Omišalj is one of the oldest towns on the island of Krk, whose history dates back to the third century. It is also the first town you will encounter when you come to the island from the mainland, across the Krk Bridge. The city itself is built on a cliff, as much as 80 meters above the sea, from where there is a panoramic view of the Kvarner Bay. Omišalj has preserved its medieval urban structure, and the charming old center with its narrow streets is a pedestrian zone. On the main square there is a large parish church of the Assumption with a bell tower, the Town Lodge and the Chapel of St. Jelena. Residential buildings have preserved the original rural appearance characteristic of the island of Krk - many houses have a typical external staircase next to the semi-circular entrance to the ground floor and a balcony above the entrance. Along the edge of the cliff there is a walled promenade, perfect for romantic evenings as it offers peace, quiet and a wonderful view of the small marina and coastal promenade. The winding stone streets of the old city center and the compact rows of houses preserve precious cultural and historical heritage. A good starting point for getting to know Omisalje's heritage is undoubtedly the local Lapidary, a small collection of stone monuments that provides a complete insight into Omisalje's history.
